The first step in this wonderful recipe is you will need to thoroughly wash and rinse your rutabagas under cool running tap water. Next peel the rutabagas, then cut them into small cubes. Moving along, next take out a large boiling pot, and then add in the veggies. Cover the chopped rutabagas with water, and then bring them to a boil. Once the water is boiling, let the rutabagas simmer in the water for fifteen minutes. When the veggies are tender enough to pierce with a fork, drain out the water. Next add into the pot the hot heated milk, real butter, ground white pepper, nutmeg, and kosher salt.
