Preparation Instructions:
To begin this recipe you will first need to take out a large slow cooker or crock pot. Next add in your raw peanuts in their shells, as you definitely do not want to cook the peanuts without their shells. Next add in the six ounces of Rex brand dry crab boil. Next add in the Tabasco Brand Pepper Sauce and two full cups of Kosher salt. You can obviously adjust your salt level according to your own personal taste preferences, but I really like these things salty. Lastly add in enough bottled water to cover the peanuts completely. Moving along, place a lid or cover over your crock pot, and then set your temperature to low heat. You will want to cook the peanuts for about eight hours, or until they begin to start floating to the top of the water. That is a good indication that they are done. As a side note, I just want to mention that you can add in your own special ingredients if you want to, this recipe is very flexible. I've whipped up some pretty amazing batches using ingredients like diced jalapenos, Louisiana style hot sauce, a little lemon juice, etc. So by all means don't feel inhibited to make this recipe your own by getting creative.
